Bob Taylor Engineering, Inc. and Historic St. Mary's City Honored

BTE and HSMC share a 2017 Maryland Historic Trust Award for the Lead Coffin Crypt Project to re-inter and interpret the 17th century lead coffins discovered within the foundation of the Brick Chapel at St. Mary's City

Maryland Historic Trust Preservation Award

Historic St. Mary's City Commission administrative staff, archaeologists, and Board members are honored with a 2017 Maryland Historic Trust Preservation Award for the Lead Coffin Crypt Project at the Reconstructed Chapel.

Bob Taylor Engineering, Inc.  provided pro-bono civil engineering services for the design of the crypt structure, and Triton Metals, Inc. designed and engineered a unique 7' x 7' metal frame that supported glass for the viewing window.  As a result, visitors to the Reconstructed Chapel can see the lead coffins through glass floor panels in the place where they were originally discovered.  Watch our video!
